Some Sundays are meant for rest.
Some are meant for reflection.
And then there are Sundays that set the tone for the entire year.
We began this year with purpose, positivity, and memories that will stay with us for a long time π
The Yamuna River Cleanup & Forest Plog Walk, conducted in collaboration with Sanskriti Youth Foundation, brought together an inspiring community of people who chose action over comfort and care over convenience.
When People Come Together, Impact Multiplies
The drive witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 125 volunteers, who collectively contributed 375 volunteering hours and successfully cleaned 790 kg of waste from the Yamuna Ghat. Each bag of waste removed was not just a numberβit was a step towards restoring the riverβs dignity and protecting our shared environment.
From plastic waste to non-biodegradable materials, volunteers worked shoulder to shoulder with determination and heart, proving that collective effort can lead to visible and meaningful change.
A Moment of Inspiration on the Ground
The day became even more special with the presence of the Honourable Chief Minister of Delhi, Ms. Rekha Gupta, who marked her attendance and took time to interact with the volunteers. Her presence served as a powerful reminder that grassroots action mattersβand that citizen-led efforts are key to building a cleaner, more responsible city.
A Truly Collective Effort
This impactful drive was made possible through collaboration. Along with Sanskriti Youth Foundation, several partner NGOs, clubs, and college societies came together, including Yamuna Task Force, Friends of Yamuna Foundation, Vikara Foundation, CleanUp Delhi, Planet Reviver Association, Rotaract Club, and Achal Welfare Foundation. Each partner brought energy, commitment, and shared responsibilityβmaking this initiative truly collective.
More Than a Cleanup
From river cleanup activities to the forest plog walk, the day reminded us that small actions, when done together, create powerful change. Conversations sparked, connections were built, and a shared sense of ownership for the environment was strengthened.
This was more than a volunteering activity.
It was a moment of unity.
A moment of hope.
A moment that showed what is possible when communities come together with intent.
We couldnβt have asked for a better way to begin the yearβwith service, smiles, and impact
