Hapus : King of Mangoes

Ratnagiri is one of the heartland of alphonso mango, king of fruits with dense plantation of betel nuts, alphonso mangoes, and much more. During a minimal short season of 3 to 4 months, the alphonso a.k.a aapoos becomes and national obsession. If it is mango, then it should be alphonso mango- with its heavenly taste, it is the undisputed champions among a variety of 1500 mangoes. The mango was selected as the world’s most expensive and best mango in the world.

The variety is named after Afonso de albuquerque, the viceroy of Portugese India . The Alphonso is a seasonal fruit, available from mid-April through the end of June. Alphonso Mangoes are grown with organic manure; hence, it is called Organic Alphonso Mango to combat deteriorating yield caused by chemicals. Thus the mangoes are cultivated with natural processes. Farmers slice the grass on their farms and use it as compost, mixing leaves of plants and Cow dung mixtures for fertile soil. With scorching sun and cold weather near the seashore, known for the best Alphonso, it is called Ratnagiri Alphonso, Which is called Ratnagiri Hapus. The Best Variety of the Alphonso Mangoes or Hapus Amba locally. Many people ask why Alphonso mango is the king of Mangoes. Well! When it comes to the reasons that made Alphonso, the king of mangoes, there are some specific reasons. The qualities that an alphonso mango possesses are quite unique and good. The cult flavor and the beautiful color, which makes it different from others. When they ripe the outer layer of these mangoes is turned into a bright yellow with an orange tint, just like a sunrise in the morning from the top. The fruits generally weigh between 150 and 300 and have a rich, creamy, tender texture and delicate, non-fibrous, juicy pulp.

The Alphonso mangoes are known for their intense aroma. Alphonso mangoes possess this characteristic due to high levels of myrcene, a terpenoid, naturally occurring chemical found in plants responsible for the flavour and aroma.  Even a single Alphonso mango will fill the room with its fragrance, making it the King of Mangoes.

They have a finger – licking taste  that no one can get over. Not only its taste is wonderful, but also its aroma and the benefits that this particular variety of mangocan provide. Alphonso mango offers you many health realted benefits, and its taste as compared to other mangoes is unique and different; thus, you can say that these mangoes are the “king of Mangoes”.
